Meeting in Folkestone the night before .
Then travelling down scenic routes through France to Rocamadour where we will spend two nights .
Then onto Carcasonne travelling through the Dordogne region and visiting some interesting place on route .
Stopping two nights in Carcasonne a mediaeval walled city were Labyrinth was filmed.
Then move on doing a drive through the pyrenees mountains, Stopping in Andorra on the way to Lourdes.
Stopping 2 nights and then then onto the beautiful Island of I’ll de re’ where you will be staying 3 nights visiting the many sites and just enjoy some time cycling ,drinking and eating amazing food.
Then homeward bound stopping in Le Mans and home .

Itinerary

Day 1
Meeting and stopping in Folkestone on the Friday night.
You will receive your packs with full itinerary ,directions and hotels etc.
Any questions you have a radios check.
 
Day 2
Arriving at Euro Tunnel for 7.50 departing at 8.50 so you need to ensure you have booked your Euro tunnel crossing for 8.50am
Travelling through France to Ardon where you will be staying in a lovely 4 star hotel.
There should be time to relax in the afternoon and enjoy the facilities.
Dinner is booked for 7.30pm.
 
Day 3/4
Travelling to Rocamadour in France and visiting Martel.
Known as the village of Seven Towers, this medieval charmer is like something out of a fairytale book.
Gluges
Nestling below magnificent limestone cliffs, a great place to stop beside the river with a pretty beach.
Carennac
One of the ‘Most Beautiful Villages of France’. 11th century abbey with cloister and the Romanesque church of Saint Pierre set in the most stunning of villages.
La Cave
Descend into the magnificent caves of Lacave in an electric train. An impressive cave system with beautiful rock pools and limestone formations. Stopping 2 nights.
You will have the next day to explore the beautiful town of Rocamadour.

Day 5/6
We travel to Carcassonne travelling the scenic Dordogne Valley taking in some amazing roads .
Visiting Figeau
Figeac a delightful medieval town.
Castres, in the department of Tarn, is a town that visitors fall in love with at first sight. It is true that the colourful old houses along the Agout give the town a picturesque atmosphere which has earned it the nickname of the Little Venice of Languedoc
Next stop your hotel.
We will be staying two nights and on the second you will have time to explore Carcassonne at your leasure.

Day 7
Travel to Portbou.
Immersed in the rugged landscape of Costa Brava, Portbou is a town with a long seafaring tradition, which offers an attractive natural setting, as well as numerous leisure possibilities along its coast.
Portbou is located to the north of the region of Alt Empordà, Girona, in the border with France.
Olot
Olot is in the province of Girona in the Catalonia region of Spain.
Olut is a charming town in the heart of the volcanic Baixa Garrotxa region. It is an excellent base for exploring the Parc Natural de la Zona Volcanica de la Garrotxa.
Ripoll

Day 8

Located at the confluence of the Ter and Freser rivers, the town of Ripoll was built around the Benedictine monastery of Santa María de Ripoll, founded around the 9th century.
This Romanesque monastery is considered to be one of the most important monastic centres in medieval Catalonia,
Then to our final stop at a 4 star hotel in Andora.
Dinner booked for 7.30pm.
 
Day 9/10
We travel through the Pyrenees to Lourdes.
Dinner booked for 7.30pm.
We will stop one night visiting in the Morning.
The second Catholic pilgrimage site in the world after Rome, the town of Lourdes became famous after the Virgin Mary appeared to Bernadette Soubirous at various times between 11 February and 16 July 1858. Today, the sanctuaries of Lourdes located on the banks of the Gave de Pau river attract millions of visitors and pilgrims each year. The key sites of the Religious Town (Cité Religieuse) are the Rosary Esplanade (Esplanade du Rosaire) – dominated by the neo-Byzantine Our Lady's Basilica (Basilique Notre-Dame), the Crypt and the Immaculate Conception Basilica (Basilique de l'Immaculée Conception) – the famous miraculous grotto where the Virgin appeared on 18 occasions, the underground St Pius X Basilica .
 
Day 11/12/13
We then travel on the motorway to Il’l de Re” once booked in we have time to explore St Martin and beyond.
We will explore the island on rented bikes (electric,and or 3 wheelers are available)
We will be eating in all local restaurants.
 
Day 14
We travel north to La Mans stopping in a 4 star Hotel
Dinner is booked for 7.30pm
 
Day 15
Travelling home to Calais .
You need to book your return journey on the 13/07/24 for 15.20 on the Euro Tunnel.
